How do I add a booking link to my Google Business Profile?

The short answer

Go to your Business Profile, select Booking, select Add link, paste your booking address and save. That's Google's route for a link you add yourself. A Book Online button is different. It comes from a booking provider that works with Reserve with Google. GlossGenius, Vagaro, Fresha and Booksy offer one, and GlossGenius and Vagaro tell you to leave the hand-added link out, so use one route or the other.

Two different things on one profile

A link you add yourself. Google calls these local business links. You paste in the address of your booking page, and it appears on your profile.

A button from your booking platform. Google works with booking providers through Reserve with Google. When your provider is connected, clients get a Book Online button, and the provider keeps it up to date.

I read Google’s help pages for both in September 2026, along with GlossGenius’s and Vagaro’s.

Google’s steps:

  1. Go to your Business Profile.
  2. On Google Search, select Booking. On Google Maps, select Edit profile, then Booking.
  3. Select Add link. If there’s already a link, it’s Add another link.
  4. Enter your booking address and select Save.

Google allows up to 10 links per category. If you have more than one, select Booking, then Set preferred link, and choose the one to show at the top.

Google says performance data isn’t available for links you add this way.

Getting the Book Online button

Google’s steps for signing up a provider:

  1. Go to your Business Profile and select Bookings.
  2. Select Get started, then select your provider, then Done.

Google says booking providers show up on your profile within a week. It also says your provider might charge you when clients book through Google, so check with them.

Your booking platform may have its own switch for this, and its own rules.

GlossGenius. Its help center lists Reserve with Google on the Gold and Platinum plans, under Settings, Booking Controls in the app. It says not to add your GlossGenius address to your profile by hand, because the Book Online button won’t appear if you do. The full steps are in adding GlossGenius booking to Google.

Vagaro. Its help center says the feature is available to all Vagaro businesses, with four requirements: you’re out of the free trial, online booking is on, at least one appointment was booked in the last 30 days, and your Vagaro Business Profile lists a business address. You switch on List Business on Google in Vagaro’s Business Profile screen. Vagaro’s setup also asks you to check that the booking links in your Google profile are blank, and says updates can take up to a week to show on Google.

Vagaro adds a tip about suites. In Vagaro’s Business Address Line 2, enter just the number, because text like “Suite” in that field may cause errors with Google Maps.

Fresha. Its help center calls this the Google Reserve add-on. You enable it under Add-ons, then Google Reserve, then View, Start now and Enable. Fresha says the summary page shows the add-on’s features and pricing, so read that screen before you enable it. Before the button can appear, Fresha says your business name and address on Fresha must match your Google Business Profile exactly, your profile must be listed on the Fresha marketplace, your team must have shifts scheduled within the next 30 days, every service must show a real price, and service names and descriptions can’t include emojis, prices or durations. It says the button can take up to 48 hours to appear, and that if your profile was connected to a previous booking provider, the button may keep pointing there until you remove that integration from your profile.

Booksy. Its help center says the Book Online button appears on its own once your Booksy account meets its conditions: search visibility is on, so your business shows in the Booksy marketplace, at least one active staff member has a service assigned, and your business name, phone number and address in Booksy exactly match your Google Business Profile. You can see the status under Business Settings, then Online Booking, on the Reserve with Google tile. Booksy says to allow 72 hours after any change, and that the integration isn’t available for Shared Locations. If you link through the Booksy app, Booksy says your Booksy profile link automatically appears as a website URL on your Google profile. If you have a site of your own, check the website field afterward.

So on all four platforms it’s one route or the other. If your platform provides the button, leave the hand-added link out.

Google says links to certain services can appear on a profile automatically, provided by third-party partners or by automated data. To remove one:

  1. Go to your Business Profile.
  2. Select Booking, then Remove Provider. On Google Maps it’s under Edit profile, then Booking.

Google says providers need to remove the link within 5 days of the request, and that you can report a violation if they don’t.

The website field is separate

The booking link and the website link are two fields. If you have a site of your own, it goes in the website field, and booking goes through one of the routes above. If you’re not showing on the map at all, start with why a salon isn’t showing on Google Maps.

If you’d rather hand the profile over, Google Business Profile optimization is part of The Refresh, at $600, and The Full Bloom, at $1,000. The audit on the home page is free and doesn’t ask for your email.

Follow-ups

The questions this usually leads to

Same rule as above: short answers, no hedging. If yours isn't here, just ask.

What's the difference between a booking link and the Book Online button?

A booking link is an address you paste into your profile's Booking section yourself. The Book Online button comes from a booking provider that works with Reserve with Google, and the provider keeps it updated. Google says performance data isn't available for links you add yourself.

Why is there a booking link on my profile that I didn't add?

Google says links to certain services can appear on a Business Profile automatically, provided by third-party partners or by automated data from Google. To remove one, go to your Business Profile, select Booking, then Remove Provider. Google says providers have 5 days to remove the link after a request.

Can I add more than one booking link?

Yes. Google allows up to 10 links per category, and booking is one of the categories. If you have more than one, you can mark one as your preferred link, and it's shown at the top.

Does booking through Google cost anything?

Google's help page says your provider might charge you when clients book through Google, and to check with the provider. Its page about adding a link of your own doesn't mention a charge.
