How do I add Booksy to Instagram?
Barbers, stylists and salon owners who book through Booksy2 min readSeptember 2026
The short answer
On Instagram, tap Edit Profile, then Contact options, then Add an action button, choose Book now, pick Booksy and sign in. That's Booksy's documented route, and it needs a professional Instagram account plus a Booksy business that's visible, open to online booking and has a bookable service. Booksy also suggests your profile link in your bio, which you copy from Profile, then Share Profile.
Before you start
Booksy’s help center has an article on taking bookings from Instagram, which I read in September 2026. Its checklist before you add the button:
- Your Instagram is a professional account. Booksy says either Creator or Business works.
- In Booksy, your business is visible, available for Online Booking, and has at least one service with at least one staffer assigned and ready for online booking.
- You’re the owner or administrator of the Instagram account.
- In Booksy, only Owners and Managers can add the business’s Book now button. Every Staffer can add a personal Book now button to their own professional Instagram.
Instagram’s side, from its help center:
- Action buttons are for business and creator accounts.
- Booksy is on its list of Book now partners.
- One action button can be displayed on a profile at a time.
- The feature is being introduced gradually and may not be available to you yet.
The Book now button
Booksy’s steps:
- Open your Instagram profile and tap Edit Profile.
- Tap Contact options.
- Select Add an action button.
- Select Book now.
- Choose Booksy and sign in with your Booksy login.
- Select Done.
Instagram’s own page for this calls the menu Action buttons rather than Contact options, so look for either.
If you have a professional account and the Book now button still isn’t offered, Booksy says to contact Meta support directly to get it added.
The link in your bio
Booksy suggests this either as a fallback or for extra visibility. Its steps:
- In Booksy, copy your booking link. It’s under Profile, then Share Profile.
- Open Instagram, go to your profile, tap Edit profile, then Links.
- Select Add an external link, paste the Booksy link in the URL field, and give it a title like “Book now”.
- Tap Done.
Booksy’s other suggestion is a line in your bio telling people to book through the link rather than by DM, and a mention of the link in posts and stories.
Owners get the business link and business QR code. Booksy says staff members have their own individual links and codes.
If you use Boost
Booksy’s page on avoiding Boost charges says to make sure your Instagram Book Now button is routed to your Booksy Profile Link, and to put your profile link on your website and business cards, so existing clients are kept separate from new clients who find you through Boost. I’d check that after setting the button up.
Booksy has a separate article for Facebook. In the Booksy Biz app, go to Settings, Online Booking, then Facebook, and choose Connect with Facebook. Facebook then walks you through what it needs, which Booksy lists as a Business Manager account, a Facebook page, a catalog, an ad account and a pixel. Booksy says the button doesn’t cost money, but you do have to have an active ad account.
What the button reaches
The button and the bio link are for people already looking at your profile. Someone searching Google for a haircut hasn’t seen it yet. Is Instagram enough? covers that side, and adding the Booksy widget to your website covers booking on a site of your own.
The questions this usually leads to
Same rule as above: short answers, no hedging. If yours isn't here, just ask.
Is Booksy an Instagram booking partner?
Yes. Instagram's help center lists Booksy among its Book now partners, and Booksy's own help center says it's an official action button partner of Meta's Book now feature. Instagram says you need an existing account with a partner before you can select it.
Can each stylist have their own Booksy Book now button?
Booksy says only Owners and Managers in Booksy can add the business's Book now button, and that every Staffer can add a personal Book now button to their own Instagram, as long as that Instagram is a professional account. Instagram shows one action button per profile.
The Book now button isn't offered on my Instagram. What now?
Booksy says that if you have a professional account and still don't see the Book now button, contact Meta support directly. Instagram's help center says action buttons are being introduced gradually and may not be available to you yet. In the meantime, Booksy's other route is your profile link in your bio.
Where do I find my Booksy booking link?
Booksy says to go to Profile, then Share Profile, where you can copy the link or download a QR code. Owners get the business link, and staff members have their own individual links. Booksy says the QR code expires if nobody uses it for a year or if you change your business name.
