How do I add booking to my Wix website?

Which of the three you want

You don’t have a booking system yet. Wix Bookings is the shortest path. It’s Wix’s own app, it lives inside the site, and Wix’s help center says you can add it for free from the App Market. The catch is the upgrade below.

You already book through GlossGenius, Vagaro, Square, Fresha, Booksy or Acuity. Keep it. Your Wix site’s Book buttons can point at it, and some of those systems give you code to embed as well.

Everything here is from Wix’s help center, read in September 2026, unless I say otherwise.

Wix Bookings

Wix says you can add Wix Bookings to your site for free, but you must upgrade your site to accept bookings, and that you must upgrade to accept online payments. On a free site, Wix says you can display your services without allowing bookings. Some Wix templates come with Bookings already included.

To add it, go to Wix Bookings in the App Market and click Add to Site, then finish the setup in the editor. To upgrade, go to your site’s dashboard, click Upgrade, and pick a plan. Wix’s page says to find a plan that suits your business rather than naming one, and that if you already bought a plan that doesn’t support Bookings, you can switch and pay the difference.

A booking link on a Wix button

This is the route that works with any booking system, and it doesn’t touch code.

1. Click the button in your editor.
2. Click the Link icon.
3. Choose Web address as the link type.
4. Paste your booking link, choose whether it opens in a new window, and click Done.

Wix says to test the link in Preview mode afterward. It also says that if the address contains a character Wix doesn’t accept, you’ll see an error, and suggests a link shortener to get around it.

Where your booking link lives depends on the system. GlossGenius has it under Settings, then Website, in its app. Fresha makes one in its Link builder. Booksy has it under Profile, then Share Profile. Vagaro’s Link widget type makes one. Square’s Get URL option in Online Booking gives you the booking flow address. Acuity’s is under Scheduling Page, then Link.

Embedding another system’s code

Wix’s Embed HTML element takes a code snippet and shows it on the page.

1. In the editor, click Add Elements on the left.
2. Click Embed Code, then Popular Embeds.
3. Choose Embed HTML, and click it to add it to the page.
4. Click the element on your page, click Enter Code, paste the snippet under Add your code here, and click Apply.

Four things Wix says about this element that matter for a booking calendar:

• The HTML element is an iframe, so the code you embed won’t be responsive, even if it is on its own. Wix suggests changing fixed pixel widths and heights in the snippet to 100 percent so the content isn’t cropped.
• Only HTTPS code and addresses are displayed.
• Some sites have security policies that stop them being embedded, and Wix says it can’t bypass that.
• Wix doesn’t support external code it didn’t create or test. If the snippet misbehaves, the booking provider is who you contact.

Wix also has a Custom Code feature under Settings, then Custom Code, for snippets that go in the head or body of your pages. Wix says those snippets are invisible to visitors, that your site needs to be published with a connected domain, and that since December 2025 some third-party snippets may be blocked until the provider updates them. A booking calendar you can see belongs in the Embed HTML element, not there.

The steps for each system

What the site needs beyond the button
